I think the two greatest problems Western Civilization is now facing are the fetishization of victimhood and the infantilization of grown adults who are fully capable of making their own life choices.
We’d rather look down on people instead of looking up. We favor pity over admiration. And look where that’s led us: We’ve built an intersectional caste system out of other people’s past misdeeds and imaginary grievances.
The barbarians aren’t at the gates. They’re right in here with us. Western Civilization isn’t going to fall to outside invaders — it’s crumbling from within.
