Fuck Zuck 🖕

I’m sick of Facebook deboosting my pages.  My main was hit with the maximum (-80%) after my total reach exceeded 250k in a single weekend.

You do nothing to violate their TOS, they come after you anyway, simply because they do not care for your content or the manner in which it is framed.

These are evil, authoritarian ideologues who want to dictate which ideas can and cannot be shared.

Vexation

My greatest vexation is the “opioid epidemic”.  People lack the moral character to take responsibility for their addictions, so they expect the government to step in and relieve them of that responsibility.  Politicians on both sides of the aisle are more than happy to oblige for the PR points, which has led to the systemic persecution of doctors who prescribe opioid pain medicines.

The media turns a blind eye to the disgusting tactics being employed because they were largely responsible for manufacturing this “crisis” in the first place.  (Hell, they make martyrs of these cretins!)

Nobody gives a shit about the people for whom these drugs (many of which are indeed safe for long-term use) are medically necessary.

But I suppose illness and infirmity are ugly, whereas addiction has become fetishized by pop culture.

Minecraft

I just don’t understand this whole Minecraft craze.  I mean, it has no discernible plot, and the graphics are a throwback to the original Tomb Raider.

It’s 2018, dammit!  There ought to be nude codes and the option for gender reassignment in high definition.

My kid’s taste in video games really sucks. ☹️

FACEBOOK: Death Note Movie Remake

0

Ugh, there’s going to be a new Death Note movie? As if the Japanese live-action films weren’t awful enough.

I just don’t get this obsession with maniacally adapting stories into every damned medium under the sun. Just wait ’til the Death Note Movie Novelization comes out (graphic or otherwise) as prelude to the launch of the weekly television series (live action or otherwise). And perhaps some truly scary creature will go so far as to novelize the inevitable video game(s) to follow.

Just look at the horror spawned by the Resident Evil movie franchise. (Sacrilage, I tell you!) Look what DC did to Vertigo — pimping her out to the networks like a two-dollar whore. And does anyone else remember those crappy “JP” comics from the 1990s? Topps nearly succeeded in turning those into a Saturday-morning cartoon.

Bottom line: those original stories ought to be treasured for the gems they truly are, let substance and style determine the means of delivery, and if a Death Note movie absolutely must be made, there could be no better Ryuk than Dee Snider.
