[DISCORD] Foreign Troll

0

There was indeed a foreign troll who sought to sow discord in American politics, but what blows my fucking mind is that people seem to think this can be used to excuse their behavior.  It can’t.

A foreign troll wasn’t responsible for fanatical, ideological “journalism”.  No foreign troll can be held responsible for people continuing to spread propaganda even after it had been debunked.  No foreign troll can be held to account for people fabricating new reasons to demonizes those kids (or ignore the flagrant racism of both the Black Israelites and Nathan Phillips’s goons), and a foreign troll did NOT — in any way, shape, or form — prompt any of the violent rhetoric we’ve seen from the Left.

>Friend posts viral Anifa meme.

>I point out that he obviously hadn’t watched the video.

>Friend replies that there were multiple videos and tells me I need to do more Internetz research.

>I (politely) ask friend if he can provide a video clip of those kids doing a single thing mentioned in the meme.

>Friend immediately unfriends me.

Seriously, people — are we not even *pretending* to care about truth anymore? And you wonder why I check out for years at a time?  It’s because I truly cannot relate to what’s going on inside your heads.

We used to have opinions. Our *own* opinions.  We understood the difference between opinion and fact, and we used to be able to disagree with other opinions without despising the people who held them.

Your hatred frightens me.

Mock outrage is not a substitute for moral courage, and the harsh reality is that you aren’t even impressing one another.

You aren’t virtue signaling to elevate yourselves in the eyes of your fellow NPCs — you’re virtue signaling because you’re so damned anxious about being judged by your pale skin and privileged Northern Virginian upbringing.  Which is unsurprising, considering how dedicated you are to demonizing both.

In the words of someone you all hate (yet have never read):

“You can fake virtue for an audience.  You can’t fake it in your own eyes.  Your ego is your strictest judge.”

Take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourselves who it is you think you’re fighting and what exactly you think you are fighting for.

BE BETTER.
